Grandma Chamberlain
She's here. We're sooo happy. A little vaca in sunny so cal is just what she (and we) need. So we picked her up at the airport and went to westwood for lunch and started back over the hill around 2 pm. After 1 hour we'd gone about a mile and a half. seriously, a mile and a HALF. after one hour!! (Welcome to sunny so. cal, grandma) So, we were all going crazy and the traffic was just jammed up in every direction and finally we decided to turn on the radio and figure out what the CRAP was going on. Dr. Laura was yaking it up for a few minutes and then came the traffic report.... A construction crane fell while it was in operation ONTO the 405 freeway right at the 101, exactly where we were headed. After another hour and about another mile and a half, we were able to wind into the hills and stopped at a friends house. the trip home took a total of three hours. add another hour and we could have been to Vegas. Wow. Phew, My goodness and holy crow. Hopefully, the rest of the trip will be a little bit better. Although, I do have to say, we had great time laughing and talking with Grandma as we made our way back home.

I think I would sacrifice 3 hours in traffic if it meant I was sitting in 75 degree weather. Hope ya'll have a great time with Mom.
