Owen informed us at dinner last night that Baby Jesus was born in the North Pole. When we tried to explain that it was actually Bethlehem he got all upset and said his teacher at school told him it was the North Pole and he wouldn't listen to anything else. We tried our hardest but to no avail. We eventually had to drop it so we could finish dinner.

A Dougy Moment
He is going to be cheesed that I'm posting these pics, but i just found them on his computer and thought i'd put them up. And yes, that means he's back from New Zealand all safe and sound.
This is a USPS ad he shot for the holiday season. (no it's not dandruff) They shot this huge house that was fully decked out for Christmas. this was in September and it was a thousand degrees but the house was covered in snow with all the decorations you can imagine. Wardrobe had the poor actors in sweaters, turtlenecks and hats. The kids and i went to set and watched for a few hours. When it was over, they got to play in the fake snow. They did snow angels and threw snowballs in their shorts and t-shirts. it was pretty cool. Of course I forgot my camera so i don't have any documentation of it.
I've seen the ad in a few magazines but If i can find it on the internet I'll post it.

These were for a hilarious campaign for MunDos. a spanish language network. The whole thing was about getting back to your latino roots. The tagline for the kid at the presidents desk was, " do you find yourself acting like a coconut? Well, stop thinking about war and start thinking about gardening." And the next shot was of that same kid trimming roses. It sounds terrible but it the hispanic agency brought it to Doug's director and they went for it.

Some pics from New Zealand:
Out his window at the hotel

HIs balcony: (Poor dude, too bad he had to stay at Motel 6.)

Classic New Zealand fare: Meat Pie. In Australia it had mashed peas on the top.

funny boy
I am walking around this morning tiding up the house, getting things ready for the day and I turn around to find owen standing in the middle of the living room with his eyes closed and his hands cupped into circles at his side. I keep moving about and he starts to follow me in to the bedroom and back out to the kitchen all with his eyes closed and hands now waving a little in the air. Finally i say, Owen what are you doing? He says, "Being General Grevious." Really, who's General Grevious? "He's in star wars, He's white and he don't has no eyes. And he has two lightsabers."
Oh, right. And why not, it's 8:12am. Exactly the right time to channel the evil General. Good.

tidbits from the kidbits
At a dinner party with some friends we were convincing Owen he should eat the yummy meal my friend prepared. He turned to me and said, "Mom, I don't want to eat it, it's disgusting!"
And then while we were making lunches this morning, sophie was singing, "Rub a dub, three men in a tub and who do you think....whoa, wait a minute. What are three men doing in a tub together?"

the gap
Alright, alright. I've got to get with the program. here's the problem. i'm mainly inspired by photos and my little laptop is at its max. It won't accept anything which totally bugs me. I guess it's time for a new computer, this one's full. Doug keeps telling me to dump a large portion of the 3000 photos and 2000 songs onto an external hard drive, but what if i need those things? I can't be running around hooking up hard drives everytime i want that cool Belle and Sebastian album back. What's a girl to do? Unless I want my computer to crash, i guess this girl needs to start dumping. Besides, then you can see Halloween costumes and photos from the funtastic week with my sister and her 3 sweet babies and the weekend with the boys from A-town who came down to work on our movie so we can make a movie that will make us a million dollars so i can quit this job and buy a house so i have enough room for more babies. It's a perfect plan. Anyway, we've been pretty busy. Some friends moved away and some friends moved in, (don't ask, an interesting ward exchange of sorts) we all got sick, owen got an ear infection and ended up at the doctor, sophie's team lost 2 games in a row and D is in New Zealand. Not sure what else to say, but at least the 411 is up. Happy JoMama? Will work on computer dilemma ASAP.
