Who knew that Grandma Chamberlain was such a party animal. Seriously, the traffic jam was nothing. We started out Saturday morning with a trip through the canyon to the beach and included a pit stop at this crazy musty antique shop where we all picked up some vintage duds. Then we went to the pier, of course because we always go there when visitors come to town, rode rides, ate funnel cake, and cruised the PCH before we made it back home.

And that was just the first half. That night Ross was playing music with some friends at the Pig'n Whistle on Hollywood Blvd next to the Egyptian theater, so we got ourselves a babyitter and headed out for a night on the town. First stop, Sushi Tsune, for Grandma's first sushi experience. We started her out with a veggie roll with soy paper...she loved it. Next, the crunchy roll, all warm with the sweet sauce...oh, so good, and she loved that too. We were waiting for our caterpiller roll, the one with the eel, so she could get a taste of that before we headed full board into Albacore, sashimi style, but our sushi master forgot that one and gave us the albacore first. She ate that one too! a whole piece, which is braver than i've ever been with sushi. So, I bit a big chunk just to save face. It was great, she was great. She was smiling and think she liked it. Then once the caterpillar roll came around we were pretty stuffed but, of course, we chowed that one down too. Definitly the fishiest of them all but it was delicious.

We finished up with the food and drove down to the club, walked straight to the back room and waited through some pretty horrific music until Ross and Friends came on. The bands official name is "The mayor and the Fro" and there is a lot to say about them but I will refrain. I'll only say that ross was the best musican of the group. He and his friend carlos could really whoop it up if the mayor felt like bowing out thus saving any future crowds from her karaoke-version of Sweet Child O' Mine. oh, the pain of it all. But Ross saved it in the end and got the crowd going by rocking The Darkness, "I believe in a thing called Love. " Ah, it was a grand finale.

So we got back home around 11:30 and let out a collective sigh of exhaustion. We loved trying to keep up with Grandma and hopes she comes back for some more party time.
