Mrs. Plastic Surgery, Rm 9

Walking through trader joe's this afternoon, i see a woman in an aqua tank browsing the dairy case. Nice boob job, I think to myself. I mean, they seemed pretty obvious and sadly not out of the ordinary considering my surroundings. There are fakies all over the place. But she was sort of strutting like they were brand new and taking them out for a test drive. tight tank, floral mini, huge sunglasses, etc., she was playing the part. We go down another aisle and back around to the diary case and i hear Sophie say, Oh Hi, Miss Norwood! what the?? It's sophie's 2nd grade teacher! We chat for about 5 minutes about this and that and all i can think is "don't stare at her chest, don't stare at her chest." Suspicions confirmed. they were definitely not that big during the christmas program. i'd remember. ha ha ha. classic!

random summer stuff

Owen used to be super freaked about swimming. He'd cling onto our necks the whole time and wouldn't even let us hold his hands and drag him through the water. Look at him now.

Meet Sandy von Cubicle, Sophie's beach creation. What wonderful things can happen when you don't actually own sand toys and bring kitchen toys like IKEA tupperware instead.

Wife of Jomama

Hey, now that i know you are on here...have you seen that grad night photo on the phs site. It's pretty nutty. Not sure why I'm actually admitting that i check our high school my space but there you have it, i do. But really not that often. See if you can find us. It's a bit like Where's Waldo, but i think we are there. Click here to see it.

obscure film reference monday

What early 1970's (should i put it? allright,) Disney film features a female lead who goes by the name Eglantine Price?

Oh, yes. It's a toughie. If at any point you attended Silver Mesa Elementary you'll know the answer to this question. Answer it and I'll come up with something super spectacular as a prize. Burtonsnorth and Jomama, my two devoted commenters, it's up to you. And using IMDB is definitely cheating. Ok, GO!

Eglantine...that's such a fantastic name.

the sammy

No, this is a different sammy, as in sandwich. Owen made me a peanut butter, cherry, carrot, grape and turkey sandwich today. He's waiting for me to eat it as we speak. yummm.

vacation?

By admitting the events of the past week, I'll likely eliminate any sympathy drummed up during the 2 hellish weeks leading up to it. But, it is true. After the glorious family reunion, a place i had to leave after 2 short days in order to get back restrap the giant mill stone to my back (insert one last 'ahhhhh, poor em' just for kicks) I began my summer vacation at home. Jessica flew in for my birthday and we spent the week in a self-involved, kidless, and truly impulsive state that included lunch at the Ivy, shopping, Superman with girlfriends for my birthday, beach, more shopping, more movies and more lunches. A true highlight was the trip to Tiffany's where Jess let me pick out something for my bday gift. I've never been to Tiffany's and it was quite thrilling. Really, it was. Even when they thought we were a lesbian couple, it was still thrilling. And when we broke the news that we were both happily married to men, had bunches of kids, and actually lived in different countries, it was still very thrilling. When Doug gets home we're going on field trip so I can show him exactly how to do Tiffany's. It ended with us hugging our salesman, so there you go. We really had a terrific time. Definitely one for the books.

And then the party continued. 4 hours after jess got on the plane to go back home, Jami and Brett drove from mom's house with my kids and we all went on a 16 hr Disney Fest as the major climax to my little non-vacation vacation. Despite the crowds, heat and endless lines, it was easily one of the best Disney theme park experiences I've had. The kids were great and we had some kind of wierd karma that kept us one step ahead of the really really long lines. oh yeah, and the fast passes helped too. The only thing that would have made it better is if all the other cousins could have come. That would have been perfect. But it was a really fantastic time, that's for sure.

It was quite an eventful week. I'm super sad to see it end. Back to the apartments, back to the law suit, back to the toilets, the smelly garbage and the neighbor who won't pay his rent. Ahhhh, poor Em.

A big thanks to G'ma T for keeping the kids all week and facilitating my me-spree. They LOVED being with you and playing with the cousins.
